Designed with an understanding that new technologies and regulations are profoundly changing the roles and education requirements of professionals in the health information field, the fully online Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and Technology (HIMT) provides the knowledge and competencies you need to qualify for jobs in tomorrow’s technology-based healthcare environments. The program’s two tracks—Health Information Management and Health Information Technology—uniquely prepare you to pursue your interests in roles that span an array of healthcare environments.
A collaborative degree program, HIMT combines the resources of the University of Wisconsin Extended Campus and four University of Wisconsin campuses—UW-Green Bay, UW-La Crosse, UW-Parkside, and UW-Stevens Point.
The University of Wisconsin Extended campus
The University of Wisconsin Extended Campus provides statewide leadership to bring more adult and nontraditional students into the UW System to earn degrees. Together with our UW System campus partners, UW Extended Campus offers online degree completion programs, such as the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and Technology, which enable more adult students to obtain a world-class UW education. Graduates of our online degree programs earn the same recognized and respected UW degrees as students who attend on-campus classes.
