Program Description

The University of Wisconsin online Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and Technology (HIMT) program is designed to provide you with the knowledge and competencies required to work in the rapidly expanding healthcare field. The information sector of the healthcare industry is one of the fastest growing parts of the industry. Advances in health-related technologies, and electronic medical records bring new regulations and new concerns for privacy and security. As a highly skilled HIMT graduate, you will be well positioned to meet these industry needs.

The HIMT curriculum has two tracks: health information technology and health information management. You will take 16 core courses and four additional courses in your chosen track to complete the degree. There are no additional electives.
